Murgon Market Report 26th August 2025
This week’s sale saw great numbers, filling the yards with 1200hd for buyer competition with Aussie Land & Livestock suppling 500 of those. A very strong sale for the quality of cattle on offer, with the effects of winter showing.
Export quality was down but the prices were still strong, reflective of the current grids. Bullocks topped at $3.82c/kg for $2,108/hd and bulls at $3.70 averaging for $1,327/hd. Mickey bulls topped at $4.81/kg. Lighter cows topped at $2.68/kg for $1,069/hd, and heavy cows topped at $3.30/kg for $2,344/hd.
The store market was still very solid with steers in the 200-330kg weight bracket topping at $4.95/kg for $1,458/hd. Steers over 330kg topped at $4.75/kg. Heifers up to 330kg topped at $3.76/kg for $1,203/hd, and over 330kg topping at $3.68/kg. Cows & calves from the Nanango region topped at $1,400/pair.
