Total Yarding: 1055hd

A large yarding at Murgon at this fortnight’s sale, with agents yarding just over 1000hd. Money has softened slightly compared to the last sale but are still holding strong across all descriptions. Bulls topped at $4.08/kg for $3,900/hd and averaged $3.74/kg. Plenty of bullocks were at this fortnight’s sale, topping at $4.00/kg for $3,000/hd averaging at $3.92/kg for $2,700/hd. Good quality store cows up to 400kg topped at $3.42/kg and averaged $3.05/kg for $1,100/hd. 400-500kg cows topped at $4.20/kg for $2,000/hd and averaged $3.30/kg. 500-600kg cows topped at $4.20/kg for an average of $3.70/kg. Heavy cows over 600kg topped at $4.02/kg for $2,500/hd averaging at $3.94/kg.

Lighter steers under 200kg made up to $4.80/kg for an average $4.10/kg. Steers up to 280kg made $5.48/kg for $1,500/hd and averaged at $4.99/kg. In the 280-330kg weight range, top money was $5.52/kg for $1,700/hg for an average of $4.80/kg. Feeder steers topped at $5.30/kg for an average of $4.89/kg. Heavy steers averaged $4.40/kg for $2,500/hd. Light heifers up to 200kg topped at $3.90/kg and heifers up to 280kg made up to $4.50/kg for $1,200/hd. 280-300kg heifers topped at $4.20/kg and averaged $3.87/kg for $1,100/hd. Feeder heifers topped at $4.50/kg for $1,700/hd and averaged $4.02/kg. Heavy heifers made $3.60/kg for $1,800/hd.

Cow & calves made up to $2,300/unit, for an average of $1,700/unit.
