Murgon Sale 21/10/25

Total Yarding: 604hd

A total of 604hd were yarded at Murgon today with prices holding firm in all descriptions. Rain in some areas of the region meant that numbers were pulled back slightly compared to the previous fortnights yarding. Bullocks sold up to $4.12/kg for $2,200/hd, with bullocks over 600kg selling for $3.50/kg for $3,400/hd. Bulls topped $3.94/kg for $3,800/hd. Light cows under 400kg made up to $3.28/kg, 400-500kg cows topped at $3.48/kg, and cows over 500kg topped at $3.64/kg for $2,400/hd. Export heifers topped at $3.78/kg for $1,800/hd.

Good quality feeder & weaner cattle sold to very strong competition, with the feeder heifer money coming back slightly compared to the previous weeks markets. Steers under 200kg topped at $5.12/kg for $900/hd. Weaners in the 200-280kg weight range steers made $5.16/kg for $1,200/hd, in the 280-400kg weight bracket topped at $4.88/kg, and 400-500kg weight range averaged $4.74/kg for $2,100/hd. Good quality weaner heifers made $3.84/kg. Heifers in the 280-400kg weight bracket averaged $3.60/kg for $1,200/hd. Quality heavy heifers made up to $3.66/kg for $1,700/hd. The cow & calf units on offer sold to $1500/unit.
